BBS Fanzines

Nothing stays still for long , how many times do I have to take myself apart to know where my pieces go ? And maybe it is desire that will show me the way home are three mini-posts that function as small, sensitive manifestos.

Through analog photographs, each fanzine explores the different stages of change, movement, desire, transformation, and the search for a new refuge, building intimate narratives on a small scale, like amulets or little treasures.

The three publications were conceived together as part of the same journey: constant movement, dismantling, and the possibility of finding one's way again. They are fragments of a larger transformation.

Over time, and also through other people's perspectives on the work, links to other publications began to emerge: Me arranqué la cascarita , Cuando no hablo en voz alta, and Encantamiento . As if these bbs fanzines had been, from the beginning, a miniature version of those universes.

Creative process

Nothing stays still for long . How many times do I have to take myself apart to know where my pieces go? And perhaps it is desire that will show me the way home . They arose from a search: to find a minimal form capable of holding something emotionally large.

This time, the titles take center stage; they are the only words. They function as poems, manifestos, and subtle clues to understanding each moment of the transformation. The same phrases were already part of the other publications, but here they reappear as autonomous fragments, revealing a persistent insistence.

During the process, I experimented with different forms and materials. Some versions were discarded, while others found a materiality closer to what each publication needed. Only by doing could I understand that each BB fanzine required a different medium.

All three began as foldable publications on an A4 sheet, exploring the possibility of condensing an intimate experience into something portable.

Nothing stays still for long , and Maybe it's desire that will show me the way home ended up becoming small, hand-sewn fanzines. How many times do I have to take myself apart to know where my parts go? On the other hand, I needed to remain a foldable and transparent publication, allowing the layering effect of the tracing paper until reaching a final color image.

Over time I understood how closely they were linked to my other publications. As if the same emotion had insisted again and again, appearing fragmented in different formats and materials.
